Sign up to perform with us for our summer season!
Risen Son Choir and Orchestra is excited to announce our summer season for 2026, where we will perform Power of the Lamb composed by Tami Goldthwaite Petersen. This original work celebrates the “power of the lamb of God” (1 Nephi 14:14) as experienced by early members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as they witnessed the restoration of the Gospel. The audience will walk with those early members on their journey from the First Vision to crossing the plains and arriving in the Salt Lake Valley in July of 1847.
The music helps us discover the source of their spiritual power, the power we can access in our own personal lives. As we “offer our whole souls” to Jesus Christ, He gives us power to “overcome the world” and “become saints.” It is the “power of the lamb of God” that will “descend upon” us and sustain us in the coming challenges leading up to our Savior’s return.
The production includes a full orchestra, choir, and vocal solos.
A special preview and kickoff event will take place on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 6pm. Join us!
Auditions for new members will take place May 5 and 12. Rehearsals begin Tuesday, June 9 and every Tuesday thereafter, culminating in a August 15 performance.
